The American Express® Green Card is a travel rewards card offering Membership Rewards points on purchases. Cardholders earn 3x points on several travel-related categories, including airfare (with a $500,000 annual cap on 5x earnings), hotels, rental cars, rideshare services (including tolls and parking), dining, and food delivery in the US. All other purchases earn 1x points per dollar. New cardholders can earn a welcome bonus of 40,000 Membership Rewards® Points after spending $3,000 in the first six months.
The card comes with a $150 annual fee and has a variable APR for purchases ranging from 21.24% to 29.24%. It offers several travel-related perks, including up to $189 in statement credits per year for CLEAR® Plus membership, up to $100 in statement credits per year for airport lounge access purchased through LoungeBuddy, rental car insurance, and baggage insurance. The card does not offer balance transfers or have a foreign transaction fee.
